Drive Shaft
Rapid product development - short lead time in production of new references
A drive shaft is a cylindrical shaft that transmits torque and rotation between components of a drive train.
It is used as a connection between engine and wheels. It may also be called CV axle.
A half shaft is a drive shaft with only outer or only inner CV-joint.
A front wheel drive car is equipped with a total of four CV-joints, two at the gearbox and two at the wheel. CV joints are connected through a shaft conveying the power.
The CV-joints and shaft together form a drive shaft.
If the drive shaft is not functioning properly, it may effect the drivaility of the vehicle.
