Mass Air Flow Sensor

Targeting new car models with rapid introduction of new references

The mass air flow sensor has an important task in the electronic fuel system of the car. It measures the amount and temperature of the air flowing into the engine. It then sends the information to the electronic control unit (ECU) as a voltage, representing the airflow.

There are different types of mass air flow sensors but the most common one is the plug-in hot-wire type. It is located between the air filter and the throttle body, inside the intake air duct.

A faulty mass air flow sensor can result in driveability problems, no-start, lack of power, poor acceleration and stalling.
